Code execution via oversized FTP listing filename
Published Aug 21, 2025 · Updated May 15, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in New Software Gekko Manager 0.77 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a crafted FTP listing. The FTP directory listing parser accepts an overlong filename without validating its length, allowing it to overwrite the Structured Exception Handler. The client must connect to an attacker-controlled FTP server and request a directory listing; successful exploitation runs code with the client's privileges.
