CVE-2010-10017Public exploit

Code execution via oversized M3U playlist entry

Published Aug 30, 2025 · Updated May 15, 2026

Buffer overflow in WM Downloader 3.1.2.2 allows context-dependent attackers to execute code by inducing a user to open a crafted M3U file. The M3U playlist parser accepts an oversized entry without enforcing its buffer limit, allowing data at offset 43,480 to overwrite SEH control records. Successful exploitation requires user interaction and runs the supplied payload with the privileges of the current user.
