Arbitrary file read via crafted FTP GET paths
Published Jan 12, 2024 · Updated Jun 3, 2025
Path traversal in Acritum Software Femitter HTTP-FTP Server 1.04 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files through FTP. FTP file-retrieval handling accepts dot-dot paths with mixed slash and backslash separators and resolves them outside the configured FTP root. Anonymous FTP access is sufficient, and the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of host files such as boot.ini without file modification or code execution.
