CVE-2009-20003Public exploit

Arbitrary code execution via unchecked playlist data

Published Aug 21, 2025 · Updated May 15, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in Encorex Xenorate 2.50 and earlier allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted .xpl playlist. The .xpl parser accepts more than 88 attacker-controlled bytes without a bounds check, overwriting the SEH record used to redirect execution. Exploitation requires a user to open the file, and the resulting code runs with that user's application privileges.
