CVE-2009-10007Network attack vector

Account impersonation via unrotated session identifier

Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026

Session fixation in Catalyst::Plugin::Authentication before 0.10_027 allows remote attackers to impersonate authenticated users. Catalyst::Authentication::Realm::persist_user stores the authenticated user in an existing valid session without calling change_session_id. Exploitation requires an attacker to obtain a session ID cookie and induce its holder to authenticate, after which that cookie grants the victim's application privileges.
