CVE-2008-10002Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated script execution via unescaped chat text

Published Mar 5, 2023 · Updated Aug 7, 2024

Cross-site scripting in cfire24 AjaxLife 0.3.0 through 0.3.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via chat messages. The instant-message and spatial-chat renderers pass message text to LinkURLs before HTML escaping, allowing crafted anchor markup and event handlers into chat lines. A Second Life user must send the payload and an AjaxLife user must interact with the rendered link; the script then runs in the victim's AjaxLife browser context.
