Authenticated database manipulation via unvalidated POST user
Published Oct 29, 2023 · Updated Sep 6, 2024
SQL injection in The Hacker's Diet WordPress plugin 0.9.6b allows remote authenticated users to alter database queries via a POST request. ajax_blurb.php accepts the POST user value as a SQL-bound user identifier without numeric validation; the patch rejects nonnumeric values before assignment. A valid WordPress account is required, and crafted SQL can read or modify data available to the plugin's database connection.
