Arbitrary SQL execution via crafted msg parameter
Published Jan 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 8, 2024
SQL injection in Simple Machines Forum 1.0.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL via the msg parameter. The index.php message handler incorporates the attacker-controlled msg value into a database query without neutralizing SQL syntax. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful requests can read or modify forum database contents and interrupt service.
